Zags Stars and Otto Team Up for Walk to School Day 2016!

Bemiss Elementary hosted a Walk and Bike to School Day Celebration Oct. 5th in partnership with the Spokane Regional Health District as a part of Safe Routes to School Spokane.

This event coincided with the school’s fall Walking School Bus kickoff where Zags alum Richie Frahm and Ryan Floyd accompanied students and volunteers along their walk to school.

Otto of the Spokane Indians Baseball team was there to greet Bemiss Bulldogs upon their arrival at 2323 E. Bridgeport Ave. between 7:40-8:20am.

Thanks to the Bemiss Safe Routes to School team for making this morning such a fun success!

Also, Safe Kids Spokane and Fed Ex, an International Walk to School Day sponsor, were at Jefferson Elementary this year promoting safe pedestrian behaviors and awareness of traffic dangers surrounding the school.

We look forward to more celebrations taking place for Spokane area kids in Spring of 2017 for Bike and Walk to School Day on the first Wednesday in March. Mark your calendars now!
